Edusave Character Award (ECHA)
MOE introduced the Edusave Character Award (ECHA) in 2012 to enable schools to recognise students who demonstrate exemplary character and outstanding personal qualities through their behaviour and actions. Deserving students who are selected for the ECHA will be awarded with a certificate and an award voucher of $500.
In Unity where one of our key focuses is on the character and leadership development of the students, the ECHA will serve to recognise our students who have consistently demonstrated the school values of Respect, Compassion, Commitment, Perseverance and Integrity, and who are role models for others. Recipients of the ECHA will be motivated to continue their good work in character building. The monetary award will help to provide students with exemplary personal qualities (such as those who show resilience, selflessness and determination on a daily basis and are from humble families) greater access to educational opportunities.
We have put in place a process of identifying students for the award. Other than the involvement of staff, we will also involve student representatives and members of the School Advisory Committee in the process.
The nomination of students for ECHA is open to all parents, staff and students from 24 July to 25 August 2017. You may obtain a form from the school’s general office or download the form from here.
